Use & control of information

We collect information about you for a number of reasons; firstly, to process your order and communicate with you about the status of your orders; secondly, to provide you with the best possible service; thirdly, to communicate with you about AudioBooks4Hire.com Ltd and its services.

Type of information collected

When you register with AudioBooks4Hire.com Ltd, we will collect your full name, physical address, telephone number and credit card details so that we can deliver your audio books. We will only use your telephone number if there is an order-related issue and we will never use it for marketing purposes.

We use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our Website. This can include using a "cookie" (a small text file) which would be stored on any computer you access our Website from. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening.

Sharing of information

We are not in the business of selling information about our customers. We share information only as described below:

Businesses partners that we do not control. We only provide such third-party businesses with anonymised, aggregated or summary data. We do not share any individual subscriber's data with such businesses.

Agents. We retain the services of third party companies to perform tasks on our behalf, including delivering packages, hosting our technology, auditing our finances, processing payments and providing customer service. Whenever you sign up for membership from us using your card, you don't have to worry about anyone getting hold of your details who shouldn’t. We have secure server software that encrypts all your personal information so that it cannot be read as it travels over the internet. It’s as simple and safe as that. What's more, our payment processing partner, SECPay, guarantees that they will never

  • Pass on any personal information gathered when you place an order
  • Sell or rent your details, you will never receive junk mail as a result of using SECPay
  • Leave invasive technologies such as cookies on your machine

You may be reassured to know that SECPay, along with other payment service providers and merchants processing card transactions must undergo compliance testing by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) to ensure the integrity and security of it's operations. PCI Data Security Standards mitigate the risk faced by Merchants and Member Service Providers and also ensure that Merchants and Member Service Providers are adequately protected against hacker intrusions and account data compromises.

To date, none of our customers has reported fraudulent use of a credit or debit card as a result of joining. However, in the event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, you should notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
